Arrival in Jodhpur in day 1

From Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai and other major Tier 1, 2 cities, a flight to Jodhpur or Trains are connect with Jodhpur.

So on your arrival our driver will be waiting for you and will first take you to the booked hotel.

Note: Plan arrival in Jodhpur before noon, else come a day earlier, like spending 1 extra night in Jodhpur

Half day Jodhpur Sightseeing on day 2

After your breakfast at the hotel (complimentary) checkout, and visit more attraction of the Blue City like:

After lunch, we will leave for Jaisalmer and on route, we have below options to explore:

We can cover 2 of 3 sites and if guest wants to explpre 3, stay 1 extra night at Jodhpur, leave for Jaisalmer on day 3, and from morning to 5 pm visit all 3 sites and reach Jaisalmer by night.

After your breakfast at the Jaisalmer hotel, guests will first visit Jaisalmer Golden Fort, and the driver will drop them at the main fort entrance.

From here, guests can either talk with our local guide or choose the tuk-tuk option to see:

4. Laxminath & 500-Year-Old Jain Temples
5. See whole Jaisalmer from Fort's Cannon Point

Plan your lunch at one of Jaisalmer Fort's rooftop restaurants, like The Trio, and after lunch, guests will leave the city for Sam Sand Dunes, a 45 km, 50-minute drive, and en route also visit:

2. Amar Sagar Jain Temple

At around 5 pm, guests will arrive at the booked desert camp, like The Trio or similar, and after a short welcoming ceremony, will check in and rest for 30 mins before going for:

1. Camel Safari
2. Jeep Safari
3. Quad Bike
4. Paragliding
5. Walk till Sam Sunset Point

By 8 pm, guests will return to the camp, where they will enjoy a Rajasthan traditional folk music and dance program with buffet dinner. After the program, guests will rest at their booked camp or cottage at the desert camp.

Return trip to Jaisalmer city, sightseeing and evening departure from Jaisalmer on Day 4

Today, after your complimentary breakfast at the camp, guests will check out, and the driver will drive back to Jaisalmer city. En route, guests will stop at Kuldhara Haunted Village and Amar Sagar Jain Temples.

After arriving in the city, the driver will take guests to:

• Gadisar Lake
• Mandir Palace
• Jaisalmer War Museum

Guests will visit all these sites before lunch. After lunch, as per the guest's departure schedule from Jaisalmer Airport, or even from Jodhpur, the driver will drop the guests at Jaisalmer Airport.

One extra day in Jaisalmer will let you go on a Tanot Mata and Longewala trip.

After your overnight desert camp stay, guests will leave for Longewala Post, which is approximately 112 km from Sam. But first, guests will stop at Tanot Mata Temple.

Here, guests will not visit the temple immediately but will first complete the BSF formality to get the entry pass for Longewala.

After receiving the permit, guests will drive approximately 38 km from Tanot Mata to reach Longewala Post.

At Longewala Post, you will see tanks and other military equipment captured by the Indian Army from Pakistan during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. There is also a three-storey post from where you can climb up and see the India–Pakistan border.

Please note that only Indian nationals are allowed to visit Longewala Post.

After visiting Longewala Post, guests will return to Tanot Mata Temple. Tanot Mata Temple is very unique as it is maintained by the BSF. The BSF has also showcased mortars, bullets, and rockets fired during the 1971 war, which landed inside the temple but, surprisingly, none of them exploded.

After the darshan of Tanot Mata, guests will head back to Jaisalmer city. If time allows, they will enjoy an evening Jaisalmer sightseeing tour and visit:

Question 1: How many days are enough to plan a trip to Jodhpur and Jaisalmer?

Answer: Minimum days for a Jodhpur-Jaisalmer trip is four days. A four days trip is only possible when your arrival in Jodhpur on Day 1 is before 10 am., and you plan your departure from Jaisalmer by late evening. In this 4 day tours, you will stay one night in Jodhpur & two nights in Jaisalmer, including with 1 night at a desert camp & one night at a hotel.

Question 2: Can I explore whole Jodhpur with one night stay?

Answer: No. Exploring whole Jodhpur and nearby sites like Osian requires two full days. But since most of our guests ask for a 4 days package, we can only include one complete 24 hour stay in Jodhpur.

If you want to visit every major tourist site, explore the local markets, and enjoy local Jodhpuri food, you should plan a five days tour of Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. On Day 1, arrive in Jodhpur around noon or before noon and enjoy half day sightseeing. On Day 2, visit more sites in Jodhpur during the morning and then plan a trip to Osian in the evening.

Osian is around 67 km from Jodhpur and is famous for the Osian Mata Temple. Just a few minutes drive from Osian are the sand dunes of Osian. They may not be as large as the dunes near Jaisalmer, but they still offer a good desert experience where guests can enjoy camel and jeep safaris, stay at a desert camp, and enjoy a musical and dance program.

Question 3: What if I want to explore whole Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, and on-route sites? How many days should I plan, and what extra sites will I visit?

Answer: If you can plan a 6 days/ 5 nights tour starting from Jodhpur, you can explore both cities at a much more comfortable pace, along with some interesting sites on the route.

On Day 1, after your arrival in Jodhpur, enjoy half-day sightseeing and visit major attractions such as Mehrangarh Fort and Umaid Bhawan Palace.

On Day 2, explore more sightseeing places in Jodhpur, visit the local markets, and then plan a trip to the Osian desert. You can even plan an overnight stay at the Osian desert.

On Day 3, leave for Jaisalmer and visit Pokhran on the way, which is famous for India's first nuclear test site. You will also visit the Ramdevra Temple, one of the most popular temples in Rajasthan, before reaching Jaisalmer by night.

On Day 4, enjoy a full day of Jaisalmer sightseeing, including Sonar Fort. By evening, travel to Sam for an overnight stay at a desert camp, where you can enjoy camel and jeep safaris along with a musical and dance program.

On Day 5, plan a day trip to Longewala Post, famous for the 1971 Indo-Pak war, and also visit the popular Tanot Mata Temple.

On Day 6, plan your departure from Jaisalmer. For guests who need to return to Jodhpur for their flight or train, this is also possible, but it is advisable to book an evening or night flight or train from Jodhpur.

Question 4: What all activities will I enjoy with your Jodhpur Jaisalmer tour package?

Answer: Both Jodhpur and Jaisalmer have two of the most authentic desert destinations in Rajasthan, Osian and Sam. At these desert destinations, you can enjoy activities like camel safari, jeep safari, parasailing with a jeep, and quad biking on the dunes. Question 5: How far is Longewala from Jaisalmer city?

Answer: Longewala Post is around 120 km from Jaisalmer city, and the road journey generally takes around 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on the route and stops. It can be included in our five days Jodhpur Jaisalmer tour package, along with a visit to Tanot Mata Temple.

Question 6: Which will be the best month to plan a Jodhpur Jaisalmer holiday?

Answer: The months from September to March are considered the main tourist season for a Jodhpur Jaisalmer holiday, as the extreme summer heat is over and the weather gradually becomes more comfortable for sightseeing and desert activities.

The period around Diwali and the following few weeks is generally busy, while the dates from around 20th December to 1st January are considered peak season because of Christmas and New Year holidays. Jaisalmer also hosts its famous Desert Festival around January and February, and these dates can also be very busy.
