FAQ on our Jaisalmer tour package from Ahmedabad:

Question 1: How can I reach Jaisalmer from Ahmedabad?

Answer: There are trains and flights available for Jaisalmer from Ahmedabad, which takes around 15 hours in trains like 20486 Sabarmati Jaisalmer SF Express, and direct flights are only available in winters, for rest of the year 1 stop flight is available.

Question 2: How many days trips should I plan for Jaisalmer from Ahmedabad Gujrat?

Answer: If you only want to explore Jaisalmer city & the desert, then I would suggest you plan 3 days in Jaisalmer, because on day one you will arrive in Jaisalmer around noon from Ahmedabad.

On day 1, you can do a half-day of local sightseeing. On day 2, you can visit Jaisalmer Fort & do desert safari & sightseeing. On day 3, you can visit the remaining sites in the desert and the city, and then depart.

However, if you really want to enjoy everything in Jaisalmer, then you should plan for at least four to five days. The extra two days are for a full day trip to Longewala and Tanot Mata, as well as an extra day to visit more sites in the city and the desert.

Plus, if you add 1 more day, you can also plan a trip to Jodhpur.

You can arrive in Jodhpur from Ahmedabad by noon on day one and explore Jodhpur with a half-day of sightseeing.

On the 2nd day, you can do another half day of Jodhpur sightseeing, leave for Jaisalmer, and arrive by night. On day 3 and 4, you can cover Jaisalmer Fort & desert. Day 5 can be for the Longewala tour, and on day 6, you can visit the remaining sites in Jaisalmer before departing for Ahmedabad..

Question 3: On which dates can I get the best deals for hotels and camps in Jaisalmer?

Answer: The tourist season in Jaisalmer runs from September to March. During these seven months, hotel and camp rates are higher from the week of Diwali through January 2nd, especially during Diwali week, the 20 days following Diwali, and from December 20th to January 1st, which are peak travel periods.

If you can avoid planning your trip on these high-season dates, you will be able to get much better offers. Otherwise, be prepared to pay around 20% to 30% extra.

Question 4: I am vegetarian and I only want to stay in hotels that only serve vegetarian food or Jain food in Jaisalmer. Is this possible?

Answer: Yes, in our packages, we do have hotels available that only serve vegetarian food, and a few of them also offer special Jain food in the city as well as in the camps.

Question 5: What activities are included in your package, what extra activities are available, and what will be their cost??

Answer: If you book our Jaisalmer tour package from Ahmedabad, a camel safari is included along with sight-seeing. Other extra activities, which you can pay for directly or book in advance with us, include:

• Jeep Safari: ₹ 500 to ₹ 800 per person
• Quad Biking: ₹ 500 to ₹ 1,000 per person
• Parasailing/Paramotoring: ₹ 1,500 to ₹ 2,000 per person
• Private Desert Dinner with Musical Dance Program: ₹ 2,000 to ₹ 2,500 per person

Good discounts are also available for groups of 8 to 10 people.

Question 6: I am traveling with small children and senior citizens from Ahmedabad. Is Jaisalmer a good destination for them?

Answer: Yes, Jaisalmer is an excellent holiday destination for both senior citizens and children.

Most of the major government tourist sites offer wheelchair access and easy accessibility for seniors.

At the desert camps, there are gentle activities for older guests—for instance, if they prefer to skip the jeep safari, they can comfortably enjoy a camel cart ride instead.

Additionally, many hotels and camps provide a doctor on call service for added peace of mind, making it a safe, enjoyable, and comfortable experience for the entire family.

1. In Jaisalmer City

In Jaisalmer city checkout hotels like Suryagarh, The Gulaal, Marriott Resort & Spa, Fort Rajwada & Rang Mahal, which are all Luxury Hotels.

2. In Jaisalmer Desert (Sam)

Day 1 in Jaisalmer

Try to arrive by noon in Jaisalmer from Ahmedabad. as on day 1 you will visit:

Day 2 in Jaisalmer

The day 2 of your Jaisalmer holiday is divided in 2. In first half (Morning to 3 pm), you will visit Jaisalmer Golden Fort attractions like:

• Nathmal Haveli
• Cannon Point
• Fort markets

And in second half (3 pm to 11 pm) you will visit SAM SAND DUNES, which is 45 minute drive from Jaisalmer City, and enjoy:

And on day 3m you can either end your tour of Jaisalmer by noon and leave for Ahmedabad, where we will still show you:

The above 3 days itinerary requires a 4-day trip to Jaisalmer from Ahmedabad. And with our 3 days/2 nights package option, Longewala & Tanot Mata day trip will not be included.

Day 1: Arrival in Jodhpur from Ahmedabad

On Day 1, after you have checked in at your Jodhpur Hotel, you will enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour and visit Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Mandore Gardens and Jodhpur Clock Tower area.

Day 2: Jodhpur sightseeing & Jaisalmer arrival

From morning to 4 pm, you will visit more sites in Jodhpur, like a visit to Umaid Bhawan Palace, and after lunch, leave for Jaisalmer. By 10 pm, you will check in at your booked Jaisalmer Hotel.

Day 3: Jaisalmer sightseeing

From morning to 4 pm, you will visit Jaisalmer Fort and visit its sites mentioned above. Then, from 4 pm to night, you will arrive in the Jaisalmer desert, check in at the camp, and enjoy Desert Safari & other activities at Sam Desert.
