1. Patwon Ki Haveli
Patwon Ki Haveli is not just 1 Haveli, its a 5 in 1 complex, where you can see a total of 5 different mansions, each one has its unique beauty.
This or these Haveli’s were built by a merchant name Guman Chand Patwa in the year 1805, and his desire was to create the most beautiful home in the whole city, even then the residence of that time maharaja of Jaisalmer.
In Patwon Ki Haveli, you will find paintings, vintage décor, royal furniture, wall stone carvings, decorated rooms and beautiful balconies.

2. Nathmal ki Haveli
2nd in our list of Haveli in Jaisalmer, we present Nathmal ki Haveli. This haveli was built by 2 architect brothers, Hathi and Lulu.
Its believed that this Haveli was built near late 1800’s when British had their presence in Jaisalmer, one you can find carvings of bicycles and old style cars on the walls.
This Haveli was originally built for the that time Prime Minister of Jaisalmer, so it do have a bend of Rajput, Islamic & British architectural styles.
I personally love the floral patterns of Haveli balconies. So its a mush watch tourist site in Jaisalmer.

3. Salim Singh ki Haveli
This is a very conterversial place in Jaisalmer. Some even call it a haunted Haveli which is not true.
So this haveli was built in 1815 or nearby for the that time Prime Minister of Jaisalmer, Mr Salim Singh ji.
This guy was very opportunistic that he himself wanted to be the Maharaja of Jaisalmer. He had the support of local minsters and thus to show his power he ordered to constructed a grand haveli for himself which has:
- 33 to 38 unique carved balconies/ Jharokhas
- Peacock style construction
And at that time, the tallest building in Jaisalmer.

4. Badal Mahal
Badal Mahal Haveli, also known as Mandir Palace Hotel, is a heritage haveli turned luxury hotel in Jaisalmer. This unique haveli, built by Maharawal Moolraj II in the 16th century, is over 450 years old.
Badal Mahal means “Palace of Clouds,” as it was the tallest building in 16th-century Jaisalmer. From the top, one can enjoy a panoramic view of Jaisalmer city and the nearby desert.
The haveli features a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture, offering stunning panoramic views of Jaisalmer, fresco paintings, intricate carvings, and a large courtyard. You will definitely appreciate its stone lattice windows (jalis).

5. Shreenath ki Haveli
The Shreenath ki Haveli, which is now a heritage hotel, is a 450 year old haveli in Jaisalmer which was also constructed by local merchants of Jaisalmer. The name is not clear but its believed to be built by Oswal Jain community of Jaisalmer.
Since this is now not a tourist attraction where you can pay an entry fees & explore, you either need to book a room or plan a meal here to explore the Haveli,, which has magnificent architecture like arched gates, spacious rooms, private balconies, intricate carvings & amazing stone work.

Now, there are many hotels and homestays in Jaisalmer that use the word ‘Haveli’ in their brand name and also use yellow sandstone for their exteriors and interiors, but they are not designed like traditional havelis.
Among those that are designed in the haveli style, I highly recommend Hotel Golden Haveli. This mid-range hotel features authentic Jaisalmer-style architectural work on both its exterior and interiors. A night’s stay here is around Rs 1,500.
