1. Jaisalmer Golden Fort

Jaisalmer Golden Fort RJ

Jaisalmer Golden Fort, also known as sonar quila is one of the biggest castle in India and a UNESCO World heritage site.

Even today 25% of total city population lives inside this fort and you will some some of the best haveli’s (mansions) which are more than 500 year old.

Opening timing: 9 am to 5 pm

Entry fees: Rs 50 per adult and Rs 100 for camera.

2. Heritage Haveli’s of Jaisalmer Fort

In Jaisalmer Fort, you will find many century old Haveli’s, but the two which you must visit are:

  1. Patwon ki haveli
  2. Salim Singh ki Haveli

Opening timing: 9 am to 5-6 pm

Entry fees: Rs 20 per adult (Indian) and Rs 100 for Foreigners.

And there is also a Rs 50 fee for camera.

Note: Both these haveli’s are inside Jaisalmer Fort

3. Gadsisar Lake

Gadsisar Lake

Gadsisar Lake is an artificial water body, developed by Raja Rawal Jaisal in early 15th century.

Today the lake has become a famous tourist spot where travelers come to enjoy boat ride and visit some amazing architecture work built at the banks of the lake.

Opening timing: 8 am to 8 pm

Entry fees: Entry is free here, but you need to pay between Rs 10 to 100 for different types of boat rides (this is optional)

4. Sam Sand Dune

Sam sand dune, is 40-50 km west from Jaisalmer city and all those travelers who visit Jaisalmer, visit Sam.

Sam is a 3-5 km of pure desert area with sand dunes that are 30-60 meter tall, and here you can enjoy desert safari tour on camel or jeep.

Plus, you can also plan a night stay at many desert camps which operate from October to March. Have a look at this list of desert camps to know more.

Opening timing: 24/7 but best time to reach here is around 5 pm .

Entry fees: No entry fees, but a safari tour will cost Rs 500-1000 per person and a desert camp will cost Rs 3000-10,000 per night.

Plus, you can hire a cab at Rs 1500 which provide both pick up & drop at Jaisalmer city.

5. Vyas Chhatri

Vyas Chhatri is group of cenotaph, built just outside Jaisalmer city.

It is said that Vyas Chhatri is named after Ved Vyas who wrote the famous book of Mahabharat.

Vyas Chhatri was built by the Rajput rulers and their mark is clearly visible on the architectural work of this attraction.

Opening timing: 8 am to 7 pm is the best time to visit Vyas Chhatri.

Entry fees: No entry fees.

6. Bada Bagh

Bada Bagh Jaisalmer

Bada Bagh was once a beautiful garden, built in 16th century with many royal cenotaphs.

Today the garden has been replaced with desert sand, but still the royal cenotaphs here are a must watch attraction in Jaisalmer.

Bada Bagh is site is 6 km outside Jaisalmer city, & tourists stops here while traveling or coming back from Sam sand dunes.

Opening timing: 8-9 am to 6 pm.

Entry fees: Rs 20 for Indian travellers and Rs 100 for foreigners.

7. Thar Heritage & Government Museum

Museums in Jaisalmer

There are 2 popular museums in Jaisalmer. One is Thar Heritage Museum and second one is Government Museum.

Well if you are interested in visit them, then plan a tour here on the last date of your tour.

Opening timing: Thar Heritage Museum is open from 10 am to 8 pm and Government Museum is open from 10 am to 5 pm

Entry fees: Rs 40 for Thar Heritage Museum and Rs 10 for Government Museum.
